Abstract
Generic and specific competencies play an important role in the European curricula in the higher education. They are main elements in working out of qualification characteristics of different professional areas and by outlining of the leading knowledge, skills and competences.
Comparison between the European model and the Bulgarian curriculum for PE teachers concerning the generic and specific skills and competencies at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree is done. Recommendations for future work are given.
