Abstract
       The article addressed the issue of theoretical and methodological training of primary teachers in the field of physical education and sports. A survey of 36 primary school teachers who taught "Physical Education and Sport" (PES) was held. The main trend that has emerged is the existence of gaps in sports and pedagogical training of primary school teachers regarding the practical implementation of the functions of the PES, as an educational process at school.
