Abstract:
      
The article presents an analysis of current reasons for physical education unsatisfactory condition in high school. Main objective and subjective factors, contributing to the least important position in curricula of the only school subject with an impact on physical and intellectual students’ abilities, are pointed out. Potential alternatives of present day situation are stated, based on the views of active lecturers with many years of service.
